An exciting opportunity has opened to work as a Patent Assistant in New Zealand's number one intellectual property law firm on a full-time permanent basis.

About the Company

This is a reputable law firm with offices in New Zealand and Australia, they are currently recruiting for their Auckland based office which has around 80 staff members. They work with some of Australasia largest companies as well as start up companies with an exciting new idea. About the Role
You will be joining the company as a float Patent Assistant allowing you to get the opportunity to work with many different people within the patent team. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Typing documents and correspondence
  • Conducting patent searches
  • General secretary duties such as diary management and taking phone calls
  • Billing- preparing client invoices and reviewing file charges
What you will have
You will either come from a legal background or a professional administrative background e.g. insurance or engineering. You will also have:
  • The ability to deal with high workloads and use your initiative where needed
  • Confidence to go the extra mile and think outside of the box
  • At least 3 years working as a legal secretary or in a professional administration role
  • Be able to touch type - typing speeds of 50+
