ICT Category Officer

people2people are collaborating the NSW Government who are currently seeking an ICT category Officer for an initial 5 month assignment located in Chatswood.


In this position, you will manage a subset of categories and influence the relevant stakeholders to maintain an effective supplier relationship
  • Implement commercial strategies with stakeholders and report on commercial and procurement strategies to achieve best value outcomes
  • Research and investigate issues and provide advice on the development of governance processes and prepare procurement documentation to support supplier evaluation and selection process
  • Undertake supply market analysis with some direction and oversight to ensure supply options are not limited
  • Interpreting all terms and conditions whilst ensure contracted services are delivered in accordance with the contract 
  • Develop Total Cost of Ownership models 


To be eligible for this role you must have:
  • Extensive experience in procurement and category management in a large and complex organisation
  • Strong practical experience in contract management, negotiations and supplier management
  • Exposure to ICT procurement highly regarded 
  • Understanding of NSW Government frameworks, policies and procedures
  • Current NSW driver's license and flexibility to travel throughout NSW which may occasionally include overnight stays in regional/remote areas
